Abstract : The study aimed to identify the significant paths of the relationship between psychological resilience as a moderator variable of the relationship between midlife crisis and existential vacuum of middle-aged Saudi women as well as the relationship between psychological resilience and both: midlife crisis and existential vacuum, identify the relationship between midlife crisis and existential vacuum and to reveal the differences between the averages (means) of psychological resilience and its dimensions; midlife crisis and its dimensions; existential vacuum and its dimensions in the study sample according to the (social status) variable. A random sample of (409) Saudi women was selected in the age range of (35-65) years. The hypotheses of the study were verified using the following tools: The Psychological Resilience Scale in Midlife (RIM Scale) by Ryan& Caltabiano 2009, translated and validated by the researcher; Midlife Crisis Scale by Sheck 1996, translated (alkaabi,2013) and Existential Vacuum Scale by the researcher. Data were treated statistically using path analysis, correlation coefficient (Pearson), analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and LSD test for Post - hoc comparison. The results of the study revealed that there are statistically significant paths of psychological resilience as a moderator variable of the relationship between midlife crisis and the existential vacuum in the study sample and that there is no statistically significant relationship between psychological resilience and its dimensions and midlife crisis of and its dimensions except for the significant relationship between the dimension of fear of aging and the dimension of perseverance. A statistically significant relationship between psychological resilience and existential vacuum was also revealed but there was no statistically significant relationship between midlife crisis and existential vacuum except for the relationship between the dimension of fear of aging and the dimension of isolation. There were no statistically significant differences between the means (averages) of scores of the study sample on the total score of the psychological resilience, midlife crisis and existential vacuum according to the marital status (single - married - divorced - widow), with the exception of the dimension of midlife crisis related to the self; Differences were in favor of divorced women. Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends that attention be given to enhancing psychological resilience for its positive role in reducing the midlife crisis and the existential vacuum and imparting middle-aged women the skills necessary to raise their level of psychological resilience through specialized counseling programs.
