Abstract
:
The main objective of this study was to detect predictive relationship between Habits of mind and Constructive thinking among Gifted and Non-gifted High School Students in Jeddah. The study, also, aimed to investigate the difference in Habits of mind and Constructive thinking among the variables: gender, grade and birth order. The sample of study consisted of 588 (Gifted 267, Non-gifted 321). The Habits of mind scale and constructive scale were administered. The date is then analyzed using t test, ANOVA, stepwise regression. The results indicate that a significant difference in the Habits of mind existed in favor of the non-gifted and no difference found in constructive thinking between gifted and non-gifted. A significant difference found in Habits of mind between gifted male- female students in favor of male students. No significant difference found in habit of mind between non-gifted male- female students. A significant difference found in constructive thinking between gifted male - female Student in favor of female. A significant difference fond in constructive thinking between non-gifted male - female students in favor males. A significant difference fond in Habits of mind and constructive thinking among gifted and non-gifted students in terms of study level. A significant difference found in Habits of mind and constructive thinking among gifted and non-gifted students in terms birth order. Constructive thinking can be predicted by some of Habits-of-mind. The results were then discussed in the context of Saudi culture, Recommendation for further research was made. Keywords: Habits of mind - Constructive thinking- Gifted Students
