Abstract : The military establishment played a prominent role in establishing the bases of the Abbasid state and expanding security in region , and the suppression of those who break the authority of the state ,the astern component of the Abbasid army was introduced in the era of the Caliph Al-mutasim in a unprecedented manner, however , it is noted that this element did not pose a threat to the state during this period ,because the Caliph al-Mutasim was reduced his power, and was preoccupied with internal and external wars that were threating the existence of the state in this era . However , this component began to deviate from its mission for which he was recruited after being allowed to take over the top positions in the state ,such as expanding the command and control of the armies and the important mandates .Then play the most dangerous role in the internal policy of the state , and took a weapon between him and the Caliphate , and each of them turns away from his interests and fears the other. The military establishment has emerged from its primary role of protecting the state to its threat. The military establishment became a political and military institution at the same time, which led to its hegemony over the reins of things , at the same time it played with the state ,which the state, which led to greed in obtaining more senor positions and material gains , and thus neutralizing the right path in which he felt into the trap of confusion .
