Abstract : This study investigates the power quality at the point of common coupling (PCC) between a three MW PV system and the grid by using PSCAD program. The model used for investigation consists of PV arrays, Capacitor filter, DC-DC boost, DC link capacitor, and Inverter and AC grid. The objective of the simulation is study the effect of power quality issue could happen in the on-grid power system, such as under voltage, overvoltage, power fluctuation and power factor. In addition, the study will perform and then compared with IEEE Standard. The results show that the THD for current is less than 5%, which has written the standard. The THD for voltage is higher than that allowed in the standard by all the harmonics. while after adding inductive filter simulation result perfectly match IEEE standard, the performance of the passive filter shows good result to reduce the effect of the harmonic.
