Abstract : Psychological Resilience and its Relationship to Subjective Well-Being in a Sample of Students at King Abdulaziz University By: Manal bint Mehemid Abdulgani Alwafi Prepared Supervised by: Dr. Eradah bint Omar Mohamed Hamad Abstract The study aims to examine the relationship between psychological resilience and subjective well-being in a sample of King Abdulaziz University students, and to investigate the differences in their average scores according to the variables of (gender, specialization, school year). The correlational comparative approach was used with a stratified randomly selected sample consisting of (613) male and female students with an average age of (20.44 years). Data was collected by means of a psychological resilience scale (developed by Connor and Davidson, 2003 and standardized by Al-qelly, 2016) and the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (developed by Keyes, 2005; translated by Salama-Younes, 2011, and standardized by Al-Harby, 2014). The results revealed that there was a statistically significant correlation between psychological resilience and subjective well-being as well as their sub-dimensions. While there was no statistically significant difference neither for psychological resilience (according to the variables of gender, specialization, or the school year), nor for subjective well-being (according to the variables of gender or specialization). On the other hand, statistically significant differences were found in the subjective well-being according to the variable of the school year. It was also found that psychological resilience contributed with 21 % of the total variance of subjective well-being. in light of the results reached, the study recommended developing and introducing counseling programs to improve psychological resilience and subjective well-being. Keywords: psychological resilience- subjective well-being- positive mental health- positive psychology.
