Abstract : This study aims to recognize the most significant family-related, economic, marketing, administrative and training impediments likely to confront execution of the Project ‘Ousar’ intended to operate productive families in school canteens from the viewpoint of participant families in Jeddah. To this aim, the study was based on descriptive analytical methodology as the researcher has used a questionnaire to collect data from a sample group composed of (150) families benefiting from the project. Member families of the sample group were randomly selected out of schools applied for the Project ‘Ousar’. Findings revealed that most of the impediments resulting from the Project "Ousar" limit its effectiveness as well as its continuity though the efforts made by those in charge of it. Economic hurdles were also among the most influential ones on the Project "Ousar" with an average of (3.40), followed by family-related impediments with an average of (3.26), then marketing with an average of (3.23), and lastly the administrative and training obstacles with an average standing at (3.14). The researcher recommended increase of corporeal support and financial loan amounts in proportion to the Project ‘Ousar’, provision of raw materials, tools and equipment, and sustain the costs and expenses of equipment maintenance by project-based authorities in exchange for a portion of the profits for the families operating canteens. The researcher further clarified that a clear-cut specific mechanism shall be provided for operation of productive families in school canteens.
