Thesis Topic: Critically editing a selected portion from the book titled “Al-Firdaws with Mathur Al-Khattab” authored by Imam Abu Shuja’ Al-Daylami, as part of an educational project containing fourty two theses and this thesis is the thirteenth of them.
Methodology of Research: Critical editing of manuscript, study and judge of evidence.
Copies of manuscript used:
1) A preserved copy at the Laleli Library in Istanbul (it is the basis)
2) A preserved copy at the Jarallah Library
3) A preserved copy at the Atif Efendi Library
4) A preserved copy at the Alazharia Library
5) A preserved copy at the Feyzollah Library
6) A preserved copy at the Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University Library
Main Contents of Research:
The first section: it is the study section, and it includes two chapters:
The first chapter: a brief translation by the author. And the second chapter: it deals with the authored book, and the definition of it.
The second section: it is the investigation section, and it is concerned with the scientific investigation of part of the book, which includes controlling the text, writing it in spelling, extracting hadiths and antiquities from their perspectives, studying their chains of transmission, and a brief translation of the media. Then the conclusion and mentioned the most prominent results and recommendations, and then the scientific indexes.
Highlighted search results:
1- Editing the name of the book and that the most correct in it is “Al-Firdaws with Mathur Al-Khattab”.
2- There are two highlights of the book, the first containing ten thousand hadiths, and the second twelve thousand hadiths.
3- The second highlight was characterized by an increase in the author’s approach, which he stipulated in his sermon, which is summarized in explaining strange words, his use of symbols in attributing to the two Sahihs or one of them, and explaining some of the objectionable.
4- It is from the author’s approach to include hadiths without chain of transmission.
5- From the author’s approach, he includes the reprehensible hadiths to show their denial.
6- The graduation symbols found in the book, in addition to the ones mentioned in the introduction (kh, m, khm, k), are among the additions of the author’s son to the most correct one.
It was recommended to continue working on the project to enrich the Islamic library, and to produce the book in the closest image its author wanted.
