Abstract : The main purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the locations of industrial workshops of all kinds in Bani Malik neighborhood, study the different uses of the land to identify the industrial interactions taking place within the residential area, and determine the extent to which the workshops adhere to the site requirements in the study area. The study relied on field work and a comprehensive inventory method in all the data; that was signed on the ArcGIS 10.7 program and its attachments, using a satellite image of the Bani Malik neighborhood by King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST). The study concluded that the overlap of workshops is not limited to the slum part of the neighborhood, but the workshops overlapped with the housing, schools and hospitals in the planned part of the Bani Malik 3 neighborhood. Thus, the industrial workshops in total took the southwest, northeast, direction so that they were attracted to the slum parts of the neighborhood along the commercial streets, such as Palestine Street, Prince Miteb, Prince Majid, in adoption of the general distribution of workshops as a pattern clustered in a small area of the total area of the neighborhood, other than the specialized centers, which are close to the convergent pattern that is slum-oriented. Not all of the car service centers' workshops on the main streets have committed themselves to that, except for light workshops and specialized centers, most of which have committed themselves to that. All workshops of all kinds appeared to be closely intertwined with other activities, with a distance of less than500m, which raises concern about the emergence of environmental and health risks. The study recommends the establishment of new industrial sites for car service centers workshops in the available areas of Jeddah city to relieve pressure on Asfan Industrial City, and work to reorganize the sites of light workshops and specialized centers in suitable areas that have sufficient space for industrial use in accordance with the permissible requirements for the establishment of workshops in residential areas, taking into consideration that the competent authority shall set distances that separate all types of workshops from homes, hospitals and schools located within cities, at a distance of less than 500m to avoid interference and problems of land use . Keywords: cities, land use, Residential area, Industrial Workshops, Jeddah, Bani Malik District.
