This critical study focuses on the issue of social marginalization in the novels of Ali Al-Maqri, by focusing on the marginalized social category as portrayed by the novelist, with an indication of their conditions, issues, suffering and their relationship to society, which is the main theme in his novels. The research used the social method. The study began with an introduction handles the concept of marginalization and its manifestations. It was divided into three chapters, where the first chapter addressed (marginalization references) in three topics; The first topic entitled the Religious Reference, the second topic entitled the Ethnic Reference, and the third topic entitled Male Domination. The second chapter addressed (the Elements of Storytelling and its Implications for marginalization) in three Topics; the first topic: the personality and its types and its use to denote social marginalization, and the second topic: the employment of place and its types and its significance to marginalization, as well as the methods of presenting the marginalized place through description, dialogue and narration, and the third topic: Employing time to denote marginalization, by talking about: the concept of novelist time and its divisions, the structure of time in Al-Maqri’s novels, the temporal pattern and the phenomenon of marginalization through the techniques of retrieval and anticipation, the rhythm of time and the narrative movement between acceleration and deceleration, and the role of historical time and its impact on society's view of the marginalized. The third chapter addressed with (Functions of Marginalization) in two topics; the first topic: uncovering things that are socially, politically and religiously silent, and the second topic a trial of society, by returning to the past, criticizing reality, and searching for an ideal society. The research concluded with a conclusion that included the most important results and recommendations.
