The current study aimed to identify the level of the value system, as well as the level of recreational practices, in addition to searching for the relationship between the level of the value system and the level of recreational practices in Saudi families. The study relied on the descriptive correlative approach using the sampling social survey method. The study was applied to two quota samples chosen according to specific conditions that achieve the objectives of the study, one is exploratory, and the other is basic. The total size of each of them separately was (100) Housewives and , paterfamilias of Saudi families in Jeddah, the study tools were built by the researcher, Which consisted of the identification of demographic data, the scale of the value system, and the scale of recreational practices after ensuring its validity, stability and suitability for eventual application on the basic sample The study came to the following conclusions: The level of the value system in its seven dimensions (moral values, family values, values of belonging to the homeland, work values, health values, environmental values, and community participation values) came with a high level of compliance by the sample members with a general mean of (2.41 and standard deviation of 0.42). The dimensions of the value system were according to the responses of the sample members, in order, as follows: moral values, , family values, , values of belonging to the homeland, work values, followed by a slight difference, the values of community participation, health values, environmental values, and the level of recreational practices in their four sporting, social, cellular, and cultural dimensions, came with a high level of practice by the sample members, with a general arithmetic mean of (2.37), and a standard deviation of (0.41), and they were, in order, as follows: social practices, cultural practices, sports practices, then cellular practices, the results of the study also revealed the existence of a positive, significant correlation between the overall value system after the complete recreational practices, and the highest values in relation to recreational practices were as follows: the value of tolerance after moral values, the value of participation after family values, the value of innovation after work values, the value of preservation of heritage after belonging values and the values of preventive behavior after health values, the values of protecting natural places after the environmental values, and the value of community support after the community participation values, as for the value of recycling, there is no statistically significant correlation between it and the dimensions of recreational practices. Based on the results of the study, a number of recommendations and research proposals were developed, the most important of which are: its needs to focus on the role of the value system in recreational practices by the entertainment makers and the interest in developing recreational activities programs that fit that pattern, preparing studies concerned with the role of the family in activating the values of sustainable development among its members
