Abstract : Background: Antenatal perineal massage is a method used in the third trimester to minimize physical and psychological issues that occur during childbirth and the postpartum period, such as perineal trauma, fecal incontinence, and postpartum perineal pain. Aim: This study aims to assess pregnant women’s knowledge on the practice of antenatal perineal massage (APM). Method: A descriptive cross-sectional correlation design was applied to a convenience sample of 432 pregnant women who visited social media. Tool: The electronic questionnaire was divided into four categories: (1) sociodemographic and obstetric history and general information about APM; (2) knowledge of the benefits of APM; 3) knowledge on the practice APM; and (4) acceptance of APM. Result: The majority of the pregnant women had good knowledge, 78.8% regarding the benefits and 85.6% regarding the knowledge of the practice, while a medium score of 54.8% was reported concerning the acceptance of APM. There was a significant correlation between knowledge and practice of APM, which is shows that more increase in knowledge lead to good practice of APM. Conclusion: This study highlighted the significantly high number of knowledges regarding benefits and practice among the participants who heard or practice AMP. The study also explained the percentage of participant who did not hear about APM. Additionally, there was an absent role of health care providers in providing health education for pregnant women. Therefore, further research is needed to establish interventions that improve knowledge and encourage APM practice among pregnant women.
