Abstract : The Role of Knowledge Management in Developing Professional Football Clubs in Saudi Arabia in Light of Saudi Vision 2030: Proposed Model. By: Nabih Saaty Supervised by:Dr. Abdulrahman O. Alqarni This study aims to propose a model for the role knowledge management can play in the development of professional football clubs in Saudi Arabia in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Other goals have branched from this general goal such as identify the clubs’ current reality, challenges in the application of knowledge management, requirements for applying knowledge management, and what knowledge management can provide for these clubs’ development. Accordingly, the study used the descriptive approach along with content analysis to review the published literature over ten years and extracted the related variables. It also used Ittihad Club as a case study for professional football clubs in Saudi Arabia after examining two well-known European clubs. Moreover, the focus group approach was utilized to seek opinions and suggestions of experts on the proposed model. The study obtained several results: It determined the current situation of professional football clubs in Saudi Arabia, challenges in application of knowledge management, and the requirements for applying knowledge management in these clubs. Hence, the benefits knowledge management can provide in this field were identified. Then, a model was designed to assist professional football clubs in Saudi Arabia through the framework of input-process-output (IPO) model. Inputs are based on establishing a motivation, culture, and awareness. Processes are based on innovation and standardization for quality assurance that include several elements, such as analysis, extraction, bench marking, IT systems, and processing tools. Integrated outputs to reach the goals, including knowledge bases, a knowledge portal, a simulation system, augmented reality, and quality indicators.
